FILTR celebrates client successes at Frontier Awards
One of the highlights of TFWA Conference & Exhibition week in Cannes is the Frontier Awards, which recognize the very best of the travel retail industry. With four clients shortlisted in 7 categories (with FILTR heavily involved in the overall submission strategy and delivery), the FILTR team was hopeful of success, and this proved well-founded. On a fantastic (and somewhat Macallan-fueled) evening at a new venue – the Palm Beach Hotel – two of FILTR’s clients claimed gongs.
Edrington toast Rare Cask Black’s success…
Continuing its hot streak in 2016, The Macallan Rare Cask Black triumphed in the Star Product of the Year Over $100 category. This is the third award win of the year for Rare Cask Black following previous triumphs in DFNI’s Asia Pacific Awards (Product Launch of the Year) and Drinks International Travel Retail Awards (Travel Retail Exclusive of the Year).
While the competition was stiff we were always confident the Rare Cask Black was in with a strong shot – it’s a truly differentiated product from a powerhouse brand, with a unique and striking visual identity and was supported by impactful promotional activity and instore investments. All of this added up to some truly impressive sales results in an extremely competitive (and some would argue increasingly diluted) category.
The reward for ‘Making Women Happy in Travel Retail’…
In arguably the blue riband award for brandowners – ‘Supplier of the Year’ – it was another FILTR client, Desigual, who were celebrating. Desigual are relatively new to travel retail and take a very different approach to the channel, which has fueled their impressive growth and a burgeoning reputation for a bit of maverick spirit. This is an award which isn’t about being the biggest, but demonstrating commitment to the channel, innovation, a willingness to build partnerships and a customer-centric approach. These are qualities that Desigual’s TR team has in spades.
It’s fair to say Desigual were pretty chuffed with their award and definitely didn’t look as sprightly the following morning.
